Whenever major NonStop community events are put on by the HPE NonStop team, the single biggest request from the community is to hear more from NonStop users. Now that the event has wrapped up and most Americans are celebrating the Thanksgiving’s long weekend, there is time to reflect on what NonStop user presentations were provided at this year’s NonStop Technical Boot Camp and from the feedback provided by the NonStop vendor community, OmniPayments led the way with support for three user presentations; Evertec, JCPenney and an update from Visa Direct now supported by OmniPayments. The ATM Industry Association US Conference wrapped up only a few days ago. For OmniPayments this is always an event where our team is visible as we move among the users as well as check out the vendors. When the HPE NonStop team members advertise a special event just for NonStop partners you just have to show up to hear what they have to say. It was the third NonStop Partner Technical Symposium, the presence of just everybody in the NonStop vendor community was a ringing endorsement that the NonStop platform continues to attract investments and that with NonStop X and virtualized NonStop (vNS) there is plenty to cheer about! Legacy Payments systems – what is their future?

I have a rusty old bicycle tucked away in the back of my garden house. I look at it with warm affection, remembering those bygone days when it carried me around the heather-scented countryside of Brittany in northern France as a teenager. News is just beginning to filter in about OmniPayments presence in the Antipodes. Many Financial Institutions may not fully comprehend the strength and diversity of banking and retail across Australia and New Zealand, but it was that significant that the former Tandem Computers made a substantial investment in the country putting together a team of 100 plus in the early 1990s to support a flourishing user community. Indeed, over a couple of glasses of fine wine, OzTUG came into being in 1989 (as we recall) and over time the OzTUG community gave us two ITUG Chairs – Tony Bond and Richard Buckle! But now it’s a different time and the OzTUG is looking to the vendor community for insights into migrating to NonStop X systems.
