HPE reveals its strategy at HPE Discover in Las Vegas and it dovetails well with OmniPayments future!

As the keynote presentation by HPE CEO Antonio Neri was about to commence in Las Vegas this month, with still many attendees filing into the auditorium, the band kept on pumping out the songs. Very clearly, they were playing a play list already vetted by HPE, as many years ago the songs chosen by the musical team were anything but flattering to HPE. This was not the case this year and as the band played their last song, the doors closed on a full house even as many of HPE’ staff were asked politely not to enter the auditorium to allow a few more stragglers from the user communities to find a seat.

It has been many years since a crowd of this size attended the keynote session and  crowd wasn’t let down. Key messages from Neri included greater support for the Intelligent Edge, a “starter kit” for developers wishing to capitalize on the memory-centric computer that has arisen out of the Machine, and bigger steps being taken towards consumption of HPE products any way you would like. Indeed, as Neri provided the details, every product available today from HPE would be available on the basis of “a-a-S” by 2022 and yes, every product supplied for deployment in the data center would be available to run on the edge.

Bold moves, but taken altogether in line with much of what OmniPayments has been doing of late following consultations with its customers. “The cost of running NonStop has to come down further and yes, with the pool of skilled NonStop technicians shrinking, new approaches to minimizing the staffing levels, as anticipated when going to a services model, are very much needed today for further success of NonStop,” said OmniPayments CEO Yash Kapadia.
There have been numerous references by HPE in PowerPoint presentation on NonStop roadmap to the steps being taken to better include partnerships with the NonStop vendor community. You can read about the HPE Migration and Modernization Services program that was just announced this year and of how inaugural participation by OmniPayments was a highlight for OmniPayments. If as yet you haven’t read the article published in the June, 2019 issue of NonStop Insider, NonStop systems were the focus of many events this year – did you see us and did you visit with our OmniPayments team? then you would have missed catching this update:

For this year’s ETBC, OmniPayments was a Platinum Sponsor and as such was given the opportunity to deliver one of just a few plenary sessions that this time featured an update on the Migration and Modernization Services OmniPayments provided to JCPenney that resulted not only in JCPenney migrating to a modern solution but led to the continuation of NonStop at this major American retailer – NonStop X systems will be the new home for the JCPenney’s payments system.

More recently, HPE NonStop announced the HPE Migration and Modernization Services where a select number of NonStop partners were chosen to meet customer needs in markets all over the world. One of the first partners chosen was OmniPayments and even as there have been a couple more partners added to the list of late, this initial inclusion speaks volumes about the confidence the HPE NonStop team has in the capabilities of OmniPayments to successfully deliver services whenever customers request them from HPE. Already a VAR of NonStop systems in select countries, OmniPayments anticipates seeing its business relationship with HPE only become stronger in time as OmniPayments continues to make a major contribution when it comes to adding “new logos” to the NonStop community.

As with the choice of music, there were no missteps taken this year by HPE with the keynote presentation providing tangible evidence that HPE was accomplishing goals set at previous HPE Discover events. The vision of transforming to Hybrid IT, along with the strategy of Cloud to Edge, are all meeting the goals set for them. In terms of market presence, HPE now finds itself first in Hybrid sales, first in Hyperconverged deployments (HPE SimpliVity) and first in Composable Systems (HPE Synergy)!

OmniPayments is very much aligned with HPE’s vision and strategy and has invested in building out a global OmniCloudX offering together with support for OmniPayments-as-a-Service. Several financial institutions have taken advantage of these offerings and OmniPayments expects to add further accounts in the coming quarters – watch for further updates on OmniCloudX and OmniPayments running on virtual NonStop (vNS). Together they provide prospects and customers many more options when it comes to deploying the modern payments solutions from OmniPayments.
