OmniPayments celebrates another milestone – its 24th anniversary!

Many years have passed since OmniPayments first begun a long journey together with the NonStop community. It was 24 years ago that Yash had the idea of creating solutions for NonStop capitalizing on the open-source movement. Given that this was happening at a time when NonStop was introducing the OSS personality, whereby it supported POSIX APIs, turning to open source and taking a new approach to payments seemed the right thing to do for a company just starting out. What started as an idea has grown into a company with many clients in the banking and retail industries and a family of many employees in countries that includes the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia.

As Yash takes time out in just a few days’ time to celebrate his 24th year in business we can only speculate as to what the next 24 years will bring, but with NonStop X and virtualized NonStop and the move to support OmniPayments as SaaS out of the OmniPayments cloud, the recently-announced OmniCloudX offering, expectations are that there will be a lot more big wins to celebrate shortly!

However, as OmniPayments begins its 25th year of supporting the NonStop community with products and services it’s also a time to look back at a major win in the highly competitive U.S. marketplace. When it comes to retailers, of course JCPenney stands out – it’s been in business for many more years than OmniPayments and has cemented its place firmly in the minds of all American consumers. This big win for OmniPayments, displacing ACI’s BASE24 in the process, is worth a celebration all on its own. It also made the cover of the January – February, 2019, issue of The Connection even as it was the subject of posts to this blog. If as yet you missed reading these posts look for How did JCPenney manage their migration to OmniPayments? and Flexibility; Coexistence; Innovation – with OmniPayments you have it all! where you will find more information about this important win for OmniPayments.

Celebrating such milestones was also the theme of the latest feature article just published in the February, 2019, issue of NonStop Insider, OmniPayments – for risk-averse Financial Institutions, NonStop with OmniPayments crosses the line first, yet again! If you experience difficulties accessing this web page simply cut and paste the following link into your browser - https://www.nonstopinsider.com/uncategorised/omnipayments-for-risk-averse-financial-institutions-nonstop-with-omnipayments-crosses-the-line-first-yet-again/  In this article you will read more from the JCPenney team members with the quote by Austin Tapscott, Senior Manager 3rd Party Card Operations, who summed up the true value proposition from migrating to OmniPayments best when he reported how, “OmniPayments could coexist with our existing applications and this allowed us to reuse our investments while transitioning to a new, modern architecture.”

For all those who are planning on attending the upcoming SunTUG 2019 Sunshine Summit, March 1- 2, 2019 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Tampa, FL make sure you catch up with OmniPayment’s own Jay Price who will be giving a presentation on OmniPayments. I am sure Jay will be only too happy to talk about JCPenney and about OmniPayments just-celebrated 24th anniversary.
After all, Jay has been a fixture at NonStop community events for a very long time and there would be few within the SunTUG audience that would be meeting Jay for the very first time!

As important as the JCPenney win is to OmniPayments the upcoming 24th anniversary is an accomplishment that is well worth celebrating across the entire NonStop community. At a time when this community looks for even more solutions vendors to enter the NonStop marketplace there is no better way to attract additional solutions vendors than to highlight the success that continues to come the way of an existing vendor who has been a part of the NonStop community for as long as has OmniPayments.
Happy Birthday, OmniPayments and congratulations, Yash!
