Vegas, HPE Discover, Blockchain, Antonio Neri and a whole lot more …

The trip to Las Vegas is about to begin and we look forward to another HPE Discover event. The attraction of this major big-tent marketing event is that the community gets to hear directly from HPE CEO Antonio Neri and this will be the first time he addresses us all as CEO. Having heard him address a similar sized audience late last year at 2017 HPE Discover, Madrid, it has become very clear that he is the true leader of HPE. The technologist that the financial community believed needed to take the helm following the exit of Meg Whitman.

I will be attending the conference as the guest of HPE as they run a really good program for the independent bloggers / “influencers” and that includes me these days. But the good news here is the HPE executives come to us to present so we aren’t traipsing all over the hallways looking at room numbers and wondering whether we are in the right place or not – no way to miss an important session this way and the HPE team really looks after us. We will be in the exhibition hall – the transformation zone as it is now being called – so each time there is a break, we are free to walk the aisles. My favorite is the HPE Labs stands and I will be catching up with the head of the labs, Kirk Bresniker, with whom I have maintained a friendly dialogue over the years.

Yash will be making a whistle-stop appearance at HPE Discover where he is meeting with clients and HPE. We plan to catch up and as this will be just as the event kicks off, I am sure there will be much ground we need to cover as we compare notes. Payments, HPE NonStop, NS SQL, Clouds and Blockchain are all firmly on the list of sessions we will be following and hopefully, we will gain new insights into the plans for the coming year.

OmniCLoudX and the plans we have for Blockchain in support of KYC / AML are now a priority for OmniPayments so again, timing looks to be good. As we have the Partner Summit and the Boot Camp to follow later in the year, any news and updates coming from HPE will be good to get; ideas about what NonStop will likely unveil at those events beforehand are always important as it means OmniPayments will be better prepared to respond.

Most of all, HPE Discover is about networking and enjoying valuable face time with the HPE team and so now, it’s all about the drive to Vegas. Should you be dropping by this event make sure you text me to let me know you are there and I will find a way to catch up. Safe travels!
